Who Qualifies and What’s Covered
Who needs a CFPM certification?
Owners, managers, and supervisors of any foodservice operation need CFPM certification. Furthermore, at least one certified manager must be on-site during all operating hours.
What is the difference between a Food Manager and a Food Handler?
The CFPM (Certified Food Protection Manager) certification applies to individuals who oversee a food service operation. In contrast, Food Handlers work directly with food or food contact surfaces. As a result, a CFPM does not need a separate Food Handler certification.

The course is available online in both English and Spanish. Similarly, in-person classes run in English and Spanish. However, Zoom classes are currently available in English only.
