Foodservice Safe offers testing and administration services for anyone who has completed an online Food Protection Manager Certification course elsewhere. Specifically, online participants can register to take the ANSI-approved national exam at the conclusion of one of our scheduled classes.

How to Register

First, email proof of your completed online program to info@foodservicesafe.com. Be sure to include the date and location of the class that best fits your schedule. Once we receive your information, we’ll send you a confirmation email to secure your spot.

What to Expect on Exam Day

The exam begins at 4:00 PM, so plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Arriving ahead of time gives you a chance to settle in and get ready before testing starts.

After the Exam

Finally, Foodservice Safe sends completed tests to an ANSI-Approved Testing Agency within 48 hours of the test date. From there, your results will follow the standard ANSI processing timeline.

In Class

Contact Liz Gescheidle at 847 254 4027 or email her at Liz@foodservicesafe.com to confirm your testing date. Proctoring is complimentary if your training was conducted through Foodservice Safe. There is a $100.00 fee if the training was conducted elsewhere.

Online Course and Testing

Contact Liz Gescheidle at 847 254 4027 or email her at Liz@foodservicesafe.com to confirm your online proctoring session. The fee is $190.00 which includes both the online course and the proctoring.

Onsite at Your Location

The fee is $195.00 per person for a minimum of 7 people per testing session.

For groups of 5 or more, Foodservice Safe can come to your location to proctor the exam. Please send us some available dates and proof of completion the online program to info@foodservicesafe.com. Foodservice Safe will confirm the date and time shortly after receiving your inquiry. Foodservice Safe will send the complete tests to the National Restaurant Association within 48 hours of the test date.

FAQ’s

Who needs a CFPM certification?

Owners, managers, and supervisors of any foodservice operations should complete the CFPM certification. At least one CFPM must be onsite during operating hours.

What’s the difference between Food Manager and Food Handler?

CFPM (Certified Food Protection Manager) certification is for individuals responsible for overseeing a food service operation. Food Handlers are those who work directly with food or food contact surfaces. A CFPM does not need Food Handler certification if they hold a valid CFPM certification.

Is it an accredited course?

Yes, it is accredited through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Successfully completing the national exam will earn you your nationally recognized ANSI certification.

What topics are covered in the CFPM course curriculum?

The CFPM course covers all aspects of food flow within an operation, including purchasing from approved sources, receiving, personal health and hygiene, time and temperature management, and cross-contamination.

Is the CFPM course offered online or in-person?

It is offered online, in-person, and through Zoom.

What are the prerequisites for enrolling in the CFPM course?

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in the CFPM course.

How long does it take to complete the CFPM course?

It takes up to 6 hours to complete the CFPM course.

Are there study materials or resources provided for the CFPM course?

Yes, study materials and resources are provided via email upon registration and through our Student Resource Center.

What is the cost of the CFPM course?

In-person: $200

Yes, the CFPM certification is nationally recognized through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

When do I receive my test results?

Test results are usually available within 7 business days, or immediately if taken online.
